The studio
Nestre was built from the inside of the industry, not the outside looking in — by a hospitality operator who became an interior designer because no one was solving both problems at once.

Founder story
Twelve years in hotel operations. Three in interior design. One frustration that wouldn't go away.
I spent over a decade running operations for boutique hotels — the kind of properties where guests left five-star reviews on details most owners never thought about. When I crossed over into interior design, I assumed the same rigor would exist on the design side. It didn't.
Designers were styling rooms for Instagram. Property managers were running operations on PDFs and prayers. And owners — investors who'd put six and seven figures into properties — were getting handed beautiful spaces that quietly underperformed. I started Nestre because I'd seen, in hotels, exactly how to fix it: design for performance, run on systems, and measure everything.
The Nestre Performance Framework is the playbook I wish someone had handed me the day I bought my first STR.
Brand values
Beauty is a means, not the end. Every choice is judged against revenue, reviews, and operational simplicity.
We don't guess. Markets, comps, and guest psychology come before mood boards.
The turnover routine is part of the design brief — not an afterthought handed to housekeeping.
Twelve years in hotels taught us what design schools don't: guests notice the operational details first.
How we work
Founded in Miami. Active in New York. Working nationwide.
Most engagements run remotely with two on-site milestones — the discovery walk and the install direction. We work in every major US STR market and have the procurement, photography, and install partners to execute at a hotel-grade standard wherever the property is.
Each year we take a deliberately small number of full design engagements so every project gets principal attention.
Our New York portfolio — spanning the Upper East Side, Harlem, and Manhattan brownstones — established the proof of concept for the Nestre Performance Framework before we formalized the methodology.
